"Plan your wedding day to the last detail, but give up all control when the day arrives and just have a blast". This is the advice I give all our brides (& grooms) when we first connect.
With Shreya & Shanahan though, I didn't need to dispel this advice. Shreya's attention to detail was visible throughout their celebrations- from the details in the decor, unique wedding cake design to the well-planned roles delegated to each member of their entourage. About giving up all control and having a blast? I'll let them pictures speak for themselves.
Recounting Shreya & Shanahan's big day is amiss without mentioning the tight circle of friends & siblings who were an integral part of ensuring the two of them could let their hair down while the rest of them had it all covered. We've had the privilege of shooting a long line of friends and siblings within this circle. So it does feel like meeting old friends and each time having an absolute riot capturing their celebrations. Case in point: the "first look".
The sisters Alethea & Nitika offered all the moral support through the planning process as only siblings can. Nerine & Clint were there to advise on all aspects wedding, having gone through the process themselves only a few week ago. Rafael went so far as putting on a gown, I can't think of another example of "going the distance". Kairah & Lisa were the quintessential bridesmaids and Myron, Erwin & Noah ensured Shreya & Shanahan kept their dancing shoes on all night.
We consider ourselves extremely lucky to be a part of such wedding celebrations. Shreya & Shanahan's wedding is the perfect kind of wedding we like to shoot: quirky, oh so fun and chock-full of love!
